Goodbye Mack - In Memory

With great sadness Mack, our friends dog, was put down early this morning after suffering from cancer. Mack had just turned 16 years old on July 27th. Our deepest sympathy goes out to John and Darlene for their tremendous loss. He meant everything to them.

Mack was a beautiful West Highland White Terrier who touched our lives too. I will always remember Mackie peeking through our shutters to see if we were home. If he saw any movement in the house he would sit there and wait until someone opened the sliding glass door to let him in. He usually would come over around 4 PM (happy hour) to get his treat (chicken). We are truly going to miss him! See above video I did two years ago.

I envision Mack going to a place called Rainbow Bridge where he will be greeted at the gate by our beloved dog Pumpkin.

Remembering Pumpkin

Watch video on iPod, iPad, Mid-Def, Hi-Def

Today marks the one year anniversary of our dog Pumpkin's passing. We had him 17 years and he was a huge part of our lives. This past year has been an emotional void in the absence of our little guy.

Pumpkin was a wonderful dog that gave us unconditional love and we shared a very special bond. Every time we go in the car, I visualize him in his lambswool pet-seat looking out the window wagging his tail like he always did. I like to think that Pumpkin is at that place called The Rainbow Bridge and having a grand time.

Halloween - Remembering Pumpkin

Our beloved dog, Pumpkin, was once dressed up for Halloween. Today would have been his 17th birthday. I miss my little devil.

Above photo is out of focus because Pumpkin was running from my camera. He hated getting his picture taken!

My Beloved Pumpkin 1992 - 2009

Yesterday afternoon our beloved dog, Pumpkin, passed away after battling kidney disease. He was just three months short of being 17 years old. Most people say he lived a long life, but to us it wasn't long enough. I lost my brother, my father, and my grandparents, all who I was very close to and the hurt I feel today is equal to that pain. Pumpkin was a big part of both my husband and my life. He was our baby.

I don't need to explain the grieving I'm experiencing, I'm sure many of you have had your share. If you are a pet lover, then you would completely understand. Our dog gave us unconditional love, right to the very end. Pumpkin maybe gone, but he will never be forgotten. His memories will live on in my thoughts and in all the pictures I took throughout his entire life.

The above video, "Goodbye My Friend," is a tribute to my beloved dog who meant the world to me.

What's All The Barking About?

My dog, Pumpkin, is almost 17 years old. Although he has some serious health issues that comes with his age, it's a sigh of relief when I hear his barks, he's still very much alive!

What's all the barking about? Watch the video and see for yourself.

Pumpkin's HairCast Report

Every now and then I send my dog outside to check the weather for hair conditions. If he comes back with flyaway hair, I know then to wear a hat.

Pumpkin 1992

I was going through some old video tapes when I found this of my dog, Pumpkin. In 1992, he was just a puppy, possibly around one or two months old in this footage. I need to start digitizing the rest of these tapes before they fade away.

Pumpkin Playing

Since my dog Pumpkin can't see or hear anymore, he sleeps most of the time. I miss his over excited greetings at the front door when I come home. When he sleeps I check to see if he's breathing, that's how worried I am. Last night I found him playing with one of his furry toys. I guess, despite my dog's age and handicaps, he seems to cope and get around o.k.

Reindeer Dog Costume

Reindeer Dog Costume from Linda McClure on Vimeo.

It's ashame what we put our poor pets through by making them wear a silly dog costume. The last time I dressed my dog Pumpkin in a costume was a couple of years ago on Halloween. I made him wear a Red Devil costume. He was so horrified that I promised Pumpkin I would never do that again.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep my promise. Yesterday, I dressed my dog in a reindeer costume. Hope Pumpkin forgives me.

Pumpkin Got A Haircut

Yesterday, Pumpkin got a haircut. I always like to take a picture of him just after he's been groomed. He looks so gosh darn cute...but he hates getting his hair cut and his picture taken.

What's amazing, Pumpkin can't hear and is nearly blind and yet he knows I have a camera in hand. That's because he can smell my Sanyo (camcorder) a mile away. Pumpkin uses his nose as his eyes and ears. He knows (or nose) his way around the house without bumping into walls or furniture. Pumpkin is like a Helen Keller, very bright and special. Did I mention how much I love him?

Today's my mom and Pumpkin's birthdays, both born on Halloween. Pumpkin is 15 years old today and Mom, well, we won't go there, lol! She would kill me if I told anyone she was born in 1928. Oops! Trick or Treat! Happy Halloween to everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY mom & Pumpkin!

Pumpkin 6 Weeks Old

Pumpkin 6 Weeks Old
Video sent by desertnut
My dog, Pumpkin was 6 weeks old in the above short video clip. Pumpkin's hair was so dark and fuzzy, that he almost looks like a furby. One year later, Pumpkin's hair color changed from dark brown to almost white.

This video was taken on Christmas day in 1992. We had just picked up Pumpkin from the breeder's. Then went directly to my sister's house. He was a little nervous with the noise and also being separated from his mother.
