Happy Birthday, Ella!

Today's our granddaughter Ella's 10th Birthday. Found this cute little video clip of her learning how to do the hula hoop when she was five years old.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

On July 20, 2011, we took our granddaughter, Ella, to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. She loved riding in the rotating tramcar up to the Mountain Station. When we got to the top, she enjoyed the spectacular views.

There were a lot of squirrels in the area begging for food. A big squirrel got in the restaurant and tried to talk us into giving him our lunch. No way! We're not suppose to feed the squirrels.

Fun at Universal Studios Hollywood

Click on the following link for: High Definition

Went to Universal Studios Hollywood on July 18, 2011 with our granddaughter, Ella. In spite of the long lines, we still had a great time. The following is a list of attractions we saw there:

Studio Tour, Behind the Scenes
Waterworld
House of Horrors
Special Effects Stage
The Simpson's Ride
Jurassic Park Ride

My favorite attraction was Waterworld. Ella wanted to sit in the front row so she could get splashed. By the time the show was over, we were completely soaked from head to toe. So glad I had my cameras in my backpack! I did, however, go back to take pictures and made sure I sat way in the back. Watch the above video.

Costco Bear

Click on the following link for: High Definition

Have you seen the large teddy bears at Costco? We got our granddaughter, Ella, one and we could bearly..(hee-hee)..fit it in the car. She told her grandfather, before he bought the big bear, that she would have to sell a lot of lemonade to afford one and was worried they might be sold out by then. She sure knows how to manipulate her grandpa! Way to go Ella!

Granddaughter's Christmas Present

Click here to watch this movie in high definition

Our granddaughter, Ella was thrilled when we gave her an advanced 61-Key electronic keyboard for Christmas. The keys look and feel exactly like a piano. Ella's been taking piano lessons this past year and we thought she would like this.

Grandpa also gave Ella his old IMac for Christmas when he recently got this one. Then he powered her keyboard directly to her computer. Now she can make music and record it. Infact, I'm saving one of Ella's MIDI synthesizer music she composed to use as background music for one of my videos. Imagine, our granddaughter the composer!

Today's Ella's 7th Birthday

Today's our granddaughter, Ella's 7th birthday. It seemed like yesterday she was just a little baby. Time is going by way too fast!

The following is a beautiful poem I found that reminds me of Ella:

Granddaughter on this special day
These words are sent to say
You bring a ray of sunshine
Into the world each day.
For having you as a Granddaughter
Is a gift to closely hold
Always and forever
To treasure just like Gold.
For you are always there
Like a light that shines so bright
And you spread rainbows of happiness
Over everything in sight.
So thank you so much Ella
For all the things you do
For all the kindness in your heart
And fun and laughter too!

Where's the Ducklings?

I took our granddaughter over by our lake on fairway #17 to see the baby ducklings I saw a while back. Unfortunately, we didn't find any ducklings by the lake. So we went around the corner and to our surprise....watch the video to find out.
