Ducklings - Black Crow
Ducklings - Black Crow from Linda McClure on Vimeo.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was all windy and dusty and today was absolutely beautiful. Yea! The winds finally stopped! Well, not for long. I looked at the weather forecast and it looks like more winds coming our way again, but not as strong as yesterday. I'm still baffled on why we have all these winds in June, which is very abnormal.
Today I spent several hours cleaning the house, AGAIN. I washed all the windows, cleaned the patio and atrium. I also scrubbed the tile floors and vacuumed. While I was cleaning I heard a crow squawking very loudly. I looked up and there were five little ducklings and the mother duck on my patio. They were peeking through the sliding glass door. I threw down my sponge and ran upstairs to get my camera. By this time the mother and her ducklings ran off. I was, however, able to capture a glimpse of them waddling around the corner (see above video).
In the background I still kept hearing a crow squawking loudly. I looked around and spotted the black crow up in a tall palm tree. I don't know if the crow was talking to the ducks or calling another bird. I don't think crows eat ducklings. Well let's hope not. I've heard crows are highly intelligent.
When I walked back I noticed the ducklings left a couple of presents on my patio. So I picked up the hose and washed it off. It's hard to keep the patio clean.
