Watering Plants

My mother stopped by today and gave me a new gadget to water plants. It's called Aqua Globes and it comes with two in a box. She bought it at Wal-Mart, and swears these things work. Each water globe was crafted with hand blown glass. Here's what it says on the box:

"Your plant will absorb the water from the globe as needed. As soil becomes dry, it releases oxygen into the globe, which in turn releases the exact amount of water your plant needs."

It also states that it waters plants perfectly for up to 2 weeks. I think it's great, however, skeptical about the "up to 2 weeks." I put two of the globes in an outside potted plant this afternoon and it absorbed more then half a globe of water within an hour. It could have had something to do with the climate in the desert here. The weather today was very hot, 99 degrees and dry. Even if it waters the plants every two days or only once a day, that's good enough for my plants.

Thanks mom for the globes! That was thoughtful of you and my plants love you for it.

Watch the above video to see how it works.
