Very Windy - Palm Desert, CA

Today we had winds sustained up to 30 mph with gusts to 55 mph. Sand was blowing everywhere! I could feel it in my eyes and the grit all over my skin. The mountains were invisible, nowhere in sight, just brown haze. To think just yesterday, I spent the whole morning scrubbing patio furniture, cleaning tile floors, hosing off the atrium, and washing windows. Today everything is covered with dirt and sand. My windows look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Bummer!

The winds were so strong today it blew the roof top off our golf cart! My husband was driving it on our street when it happened. Fortunately, Gordon didn't get hurt! The top of the cart along with nuts and bolts flew off and crashed on the asphalt behind him. It made a tremendous loud crash that scared the chit out of Gordon. A neighbor helped him put the top in the back of the cart. Gordon was as white as a sheet when he walked in the house. I couldn't believe it when told me!

We've had unusual weather this year. Normally we have strong winds around April not June! I don't go anywhere when we have weather like this. I wish the winds would stop. I'm getting cabin fever!
