While my husband was out playing golf, my mom and I went to the International Tamale Festival in Indio. The Tamale Festival is celebrated on the first weekend in December. Centered around traditional Mexican Christmas food, the festival has tamale tastings, a parade, vendors, and entertainment.
There were a lot of people at the festival Sunday afternoon. Since I'm not fond of crowds and my mom can't walk too far because of her knees, we went to the first tamale stand we could find. There's nothing like a good authentic Mexican tamale...mmm mmm good! I had one and my mom ate two! Don't tell her I told you this...LOL!
