I'll never forget the above photo! Payne Stewart actually posed and smiled at me when I took this picture. Stewart was standing on the 15th tee box at PGA West on Friday morning, January 13th, 1989. I remember he use to be one of my favorite PGA golfer on the tour. I think it was because I thought he was so handsome and I loved his unique stylish clothes. I was so sad and shocked when I heard Payne Stewart was killed in the crash of a Lear 35 jet near Mina, South Dekota on October 25th, 1999. He was only 42 years old at the time. Gordon and I use to go to all the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Golf events in the 1980's and early 1990's. We quit going after we moved to the desert. Instead, we sit in front of our 61 inch high definition LCD television to watch the golf tournament as big as life. I must say, it's definitely better then looking through binoculars and getting grass stains on our shorts! LOL!
