Ducks - La Quinta Art Festival

It was a beautiful day at the La Quinta Art Festival yesterday. We enjoyed looking at lots of unique art pieces. While we sat around the lake I filmed a bunch of ducks on this sunny gorgeous day.

Bad Mama Duck!

Baby Ducklings by desertnut

Here's an old movie clip I took of ducklings swimming in the lake with their mother. I posted this video on my blog a couple of years ago and decided to share it again for those who haven't seen it.

It's about a mother duck getting out of the lake and leaving most of her ducklings behind. Watch the video and don't get discourage, it does have a happy ending. The ducklings were frantic at first but eventually find a way to get out of the lake to reunite back with their mother. I still think the mother had no sense of responsibility. That's why I labeled this post, Bad Mama Duck!

Baby Ducklings Arrived Just Before Easter!

Click on the following link for: High Definition

A mama duck laid her eggs by the women's restroom on fairway #6 on our golf course. Just recently some of her eggs hatched. I saw the ducklings this afternoon swimming in the lake with their parents.

Neighbor, Clair, took a picture of me taken a picture of the ducks

Tranquility by the Pond

Oh, my! I have neglected my poor video blog for a long time. Thought I better post something real quick before I lose all my fans.

I filmed this video using my sister's Flip Mino HD camcorder taking random shots near and by a pond. This camcorder takes great HD footage for such a small little pocket camera. All hand held shots, however, it would have came out better if I used a tripod. Video was filmed in Rancho Mirage, California.

Woodhaven Ducks

Woodhaven Ducks from Linda McClure on Vimeo.

I haven't seen too many ducks lately at Woodhaven. Today, I saw a male and female duck walking side by side. In January, it's the starting of the mating season. Soon there will be baby ducklings around April. Can't wait to see them in spring, they're so cute!

Here's a short video of the ducks I saw today.
