Cinco de Mayo Celebration 2012

We had a great time at our friends Cinco de Mayo party last night. Thank you Art and Nadene for the fun evening! You're the best!

Did you happen to see the moon last night? It was the biggest and brightest full moon of 2012. Last night at the party several of us went outside to see the Super Moon. Glad I was able to capture it with my camera!

Whitewater Preserve Hike - May 5, 2011

Today, on Cinco de Mayo, we got up early to get a cool start for our hike this morning. We decided to hike Whitewater because we knew it would be a lot cooler then Palm Desert. Leo, our hiking buddy, didn't get a chance to go with us last year so it was the first time for him. On the way there we saw a lot of wild rabbits hopping all over the roads. We had to drive carefully and slowed down for bunny pedestrians, lol!

When we arrived at the preserve around 6:45 a.m. the gates were closed at the entrance. There was a sign showing they open at 8 a.m. So we started are trek down the road and did the hiking loop in reverse. The hike was only 4.5 miles and only took us two hours. We were home by 10 a.m. which made it nice.
