It's so nice to be able to just jump across the I10 to the Coachella Valley Preserve for a quick and easy hike. Today we explored a different trail in a canyon west of Willis Palms. There was no big drama like last weeks hike climbing out of a cave with a rope. This trek was around 8 miles going through sand and 700 feet elevation. It was a beautiful day for hiking. Watch the above video or see it on YouTube.

We found an old rusty beer can that was opened with a church key rather then pop tops. I looked it up on Art's Beer Cans site and found out that pop tops were introduced around 1962. So that beer can had to be over 50 plus years. You just never know what one might find while hiking in the desert.
