Tamale Festival 2011 - Indio, CA

This Sunday we went to the Tamale Festival in Indio, CA. The first place we went to was Grandma Lupe's. There was a long line just like all the previous years (the tamales are excellent). We decided not to stand in line for two and half hours, Instead we sampled a couple of other vendors. Of course, since I started being a vegan again, I only ate the vegetable ones which were pretty darn good. Watch the above video!

We saw a beautiful parrot with vivid colors named Rascal sitting on his master's shoulder. The owner told us that Rascal is 17 years old and he had her since she was a couple of months old. Parrots have a life expectancy of anywhere from 30 to 100 years!
