I got an early morning text message on my cell phone from my little sister, Marie, saying she fell down the stairs and broke both ankles! She was in pain and her feet were twisted backwards! Marie called 911 and was waiting in the Emergency Room. I was shocked and suddenly felt nauseated!
We immediately canceled our Thursday hiking and drove to Thousand Oaks to be with my sister. As it turned out, she broke her right ankle and the left one was badly sprained (a double whammy). Unfortunately, she will need surgery on the broken one. She has to wait a week for the swelling to go down before they can operate. Bummer!!
We wish Marie a speedy recovery!
