The Floods in 1993

1993 Floods Indian Wells, CA
Video sent by desertnut
This video may be of interest to anyone who lived in the Palm Desert or Indian Wells area during the 1993 floods. The video was taken on January 17th, 1993 on Miles Avenue in Indian Wells. The floods caused extensive damaged to the road as you will see in the video.

The movie starts off with me complaining to Gordon. I was worried he was wasting the battery to the camcorder by filming the movie too far away from the scene. I eventually took the camera from him and got closer to the action. It's kinda funny, I don't remember doing that. I almost edit that scene out, but left it in (what the hey).

I appologize for the sloppy appearance of the video with the white meter counter on the corners. It's so distracting, however, it's a small technical problem that can be fixed. Once I get the part I ordered, it will be corrected.

That's quite a video. Right now there is much talk about shoring up the levees in the Delta region in California and I've been seeing lots of photos of levee breaks. Makes you realize how powerless we really are when Mother Nature decides to get testy, doesn't it!
