I decided to take some pictures of my beautiful Minneola Tangelo tree late yesterday afternoon, before I picked all the riped fruit. Every year our tree bears fruit enough to last for a couple of months. One year we had a problem with fruit rats eating the inside of the fruit and all that was left was a hollow rind hanging on the tree. I thought the birds were eating it until I saw a rat one day! That scared the heck out of me! Since we had traps set up to keep the rats out, we haven't had any problems. In case your wondering what a tangelo is, it's a cross between a grapefruit and tangerine, having a bitter sweet taste and a thin, loose rind. Tangelos range from the size of a standard sweet orange to the size of a small grapefruit.
Check out the flash movie I made by clicking on the above picture. Notice the blue fruit bowl in one of the photos. It was given to me by my Aunt. I love that bowl! I use it all the time to put all my fruit in it.
