Do you remember S&H Green Stamps? You know, those little green stamps that were given out whenever you purchased grocery or gasoline at a gas station when gas was 25 cents per gallon. O.K.....I'm starting to age myself. I remember collecting the green stamps and pasting them in a little booklet that held so many stamps per book. When several books were filled, I then redeemed the books through a catalog or go to a Green Stamp store to get various items such as a waffle iron, dishes or whatever. S&H Green Stamps were very popular in the 1960's and early 1970's.
I never gave it a thought back then why they called those little green stamps S&H until now. I looked it up on Wikipedia. S&H stands for Sperry and Hutchinson Company. Would you believe S&H is still active in today's environment! Instead of stamps they use S&H greenpoints, a digital version of Green Stamps. That sure surprised me....who knew!
