Here's a collection of short video clips of my family taken at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on July 11, 2008. My sister's grandchildren, Hunter 5 and Jules 4 were visiting Disneyland for the very first time. It was a very exciting day for the kids.
This is the first time we stayed at Disneyland to watch the fireworks. They were fantastic! Here are short snippets of fireworks we saw Friday night. Watching it on a video isn't as spectacular as they were actually being there.
I had to squeeze my way through the crowds to be in the center of action. Luckily, I didn't block any kids view. I stood in front of a guy who was 6 foot seven (lol). Then when the firework show started, a dad put their kid way up high on his shoulders, which unfortunately blocked my view. No problem, the little girl wanted to see the show too. I just moved over a little ways. You can see her in the video with her Mickey Mouse hat on. After I played it back, I thought it added a little character to my movie, LOL!

I went to Disneyland Park with my family on July 11, 2008. This was the very first time that my sister's grandchildren, Hunter and Jules, been to Disneyland. We all had the most memorable and wonderful time there. The above is some footage I took of the parade. There will be more video to follow.
My sister, Marie, sent me an e-mail last night regarding Disneyland that was very moving to me. This is what she wrote:
While we were at Disneyland on Friday, as I was looking around soaking in “Fantasy Land”, “Tomorrow Land”, “Adventure Land”, and “Toon Town” … something dawned upon me. Throughout the park one central theme runs through each land…and that is the theme that dreams can come true if only you will believe. There is a feeling you get at Disneyland like none other – the feeling of belief in infinite possibilities, that fantasy can be reality, that fiction can become fact. I was thinking these thoughts at the Plaza Inn restaurant on Main Street, as Duane, Hunter, Jules, and I enjoyed our chicken dinner at around 11:30pm last night. Our waitress was so friendly, she told us the story of how it is believed that Walt Disney hangs around California Disneyland in spirit (a ghost). She told me they have a light glowing in his old office and family suite above the lighthouse. They have kept that light burning since his death and believe it keeps his spirit alive at the park.
I got to thinking, who was this man, Walt Disney, this man with such vision…and this theme that runs through the park, seems so familiar. Then I remembered about “The Secret” and realized it is same theme, the same feeling, the same idea, so I looked up Walt Disney’s famous quotes and found this one…
"Somehow I can't believe there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C's. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably."
