Hike to Cross - February 27, 2014

This is our second hike this year to the Cross in Palm Desert, CA. Welcome Ed and Grace on their first hike with us!

Cat Canyon Hopalong Cassidy Hike

On this hike we took two cars leaving one at Cat Canyon and the other at the Cross trailhead. We hiked a little over a mile up Cat Canyon Wash where we joined the Hopalong Cassidy Trail. Following the steep switchbacks got us to the upper trail over looking South Palm Desert. It was this initial climb about 400 feet that makes this trail moderate to strenuous hike. Following the trail you skirt the hidden and exclusive Stone Eagle Golf Course, a private course. Then arriving at the Cross after a final short but steep climb. The rest was all down hill to the car. Click on the above image to view more pictures.
