Dad's Memorial
On February 1, 2005, my father passed away from a massive heart attack. He was almost 87. My dad made a difference in this world. He served for our country and even after death, by his generosity and selfless gift he donated his body for medical research.
My father's wishes were to be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery. He was a WW2 veteran and was given a *Memorial Honor Detail by Team #9. This included the firing of rifles, the bugle playing Taps, and the folding of the flag. In addition, our family received three brass ammunition casings symbolizing the three rifle volleys fired during the Military Funeral.
Now, finally, after two years I can put my dad to rest and our family will have closure.
*The Memorial Honor Detail is staffed entirely by volunteers who did a beautiful service for my father.

That was a beautiful tribute to your dad, Linda. Taps gets me every time.
