GTE Reunion Party

Last night we went to the GTE Reunion dinner party at the Westin in Rancho Mirage. It was great to see old friends and acquaintances again after all these years. We also enjoyed the dinner and dancing. Lynn and Sandy did a wonderful job putting this reunion together.

My sister and I worked for GTE, which is now Verizon, for many years. I had 32 years with the company and my sister 29. Most of our lives was revolved around GTE. It was like going to a family reunion.

It was interesting to find out what most of our friends did after they retired from the phone company. Some opened up their own business, some went into real estate, some contract back to Verizon or another telephone company, and others like me, just retired. It brought back many fond memories working for GTE. Those were the good old days.
