Remembering My Brother
QuickTime Movie
Today is the second anniversary of my little brother's death. Earl William Cannady, Jr. was killed in Mexico on July 29th, 2004 at the age of 39. The Mexican police claims it was an accident when my brother was hit by a truck. My family believes that there was more to this because of certain circumstances. We will never know for sure what really happened. In any case, it's not going to bring my brother back.
My brother meant a lot to me and my family. He was handsome, witty, and he loved to have fun. Earl graduated from Moorpark College with a degree in art. Shortly after college he became an art director and graphic designer. I remember driving to work one day when I saw my brother's advertisement artwork on a billboard off of highway 101. Another time I was working at a trade show in Las Vegas when I saw some of his artwork displayed throughout the convention center. I was very proud of him and his accomplishments.
Earl Jr. was so created in many things. He wrote poems, he was an inventor, and a great athlete. One time Earl and I rode our bikes from Azusa to Seal Beach and back. We did it all in one day, aproximately 85 miles. Even though I had leg cramps and because of my competitiveness, I was determine to keep up with Earl. I never would have made it without him.
The above movie shows little sprinkles of memories of my baby brother. He is always in my thoughts. I miss his laughter and his beautiful smile.

That's a beautiful tribute, Linda. What a handsome man he was. I know how you miss him. Hugs.
That's a lovely tribute. I can only imagine the kind of grief you must be feeling. I haven't lost a brother (yet) but I have lost a best friend to AIDS, and, just recently, another very close friend to a stroke. I send my condolences. (I'm a friend of Bev's).
Beautifully done and very touching! Thanks for sharing this. My sympathies to you and your family.
Linda that was beautiful. A lovely, heartfelt tribule.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
