Beanie Sick

Well, today I took Beanie back to the doctor…this time Mid Town Vet. When I got there they had the radiology report from the x-rays faxed over from the emergency clinic I took her to yesterday. Apparently the radiologist wrote that she had severe pneumonia. I started to cry in the doctor’s office. The vet told me she would not die but that we would have to do weekly x-rays to monitor her. He said he wanted to take more x-rays of the lungs alone.
I was very upset to say the least but grateful that the little voice within me kept telling me to bring her to another vet – to get some answers. This vet is very, very knowledgeable and basically told me what all the other vets did wrong. My instincts were right on the money – my instincts were gnawing at me and would not let me rest literally. Have you ever felt like something was so wrong that you just couldn’t let it go and you felt agitated over it? Well that is how I have felt for the last 3 weeks.
We left Beanie in the office for several hours while they took blood tests, x-rays, and other tests. When we picked her up, she was very happy to see us…very happy. She wanted to stay in Jacki’s arms all the way home…and liked to pick at jacki’s ripped up blue jeans (that she paid a zillion dollars for). We will be bringing her back next week for another blood test to see if her white blood cells start to drop from the medication. She will be very closely monitored but the vet told me she would survive this.
I phoned the pet store to tell them what was happening and they told me to fax to them all the bills and they will pay for it. That is really good because the bills are really getting high…today alone was 400.00, yesterday 300.00 and 2 weeks ago 300.00…not to mention my other pet’s bills and Advantage flea program….my pets are breaking my bank account. But what can I say…I love them. Some people take vacations…I pay vet bills.

It probably won't surprise you to hear that this brought tears to my eyes. I hope Beanie gets better very soon. Your sister might ask the vet about using a vaporizer. I wish I had used one with Elmer.
