Our New SUV

Some of my friends and family that live out of town heard that Gordon and I got a new SUV and wanted to know what it looked like. So rather then trying to describe it, I made a video of our new car to show you what it looks like. It's a 2006 Buick Rendezvous loaded with everything. It's kinda modest from the outside but gives you a the feeling of a luxury car from the inside. Click on the above video to view details.

Our 1996 red GMC Jimmy had 145 thousand miles and we finally had to put it to rest. I use to say for years that I'd keep the Jimmy until the wheels fell off. Well the wheels didn't fall off but the transmission went. It would have cost us $3,500 to replace it with a rebuilt one. A new one runs about $5,000. To think we just put new tires on the Jimmy a couple of months ago, had we only known.

My Jimmy was in mint condition on the exterior paint and the leather interior looked new. I always waxed my car and kept it in the garage. It's hard to believe that it's worth nothing. So the only thing we could do is donate it. Not sure to which charity yet. My poor little Jimmy, I'll miss you (boo hoo)!
