Well I finally got my new Sanyo VPC-HD1 digital camcorder. As I mentioned before, I received one last week in the mail and it was defective. I shipped the defective camcorder back to the vendor. They promise they would ship another one out the next day. When we didn't recieve the camcorder, my husband called them back. The vendor told us the product was out of stock. So we canceled the order.
Well I'm glad we did because I searched on the Internet and found the camera $200 cheaper through Preferred Photo. I thought there had to be some kind of catch to this. I asked them why are they cheaper than all the other vendors. Their response was, they got a huge discount from the manufactor and were able to sell it for less to the public.
So I ordered the Sanyo VPC-HD1 digital camcorder along with an extra battery pack that last two hours. We still saved over $100 which included the extra battery and the cost to ship it over night.
I received my camcorder yesterday afternoon. By the time I went through the manual it was getting dark outside. So I made a short movie on the lake for a test drive. The above video was set at the lowest resolution and still looks great. I can't wait to try the HD mode. Now I'll be able to take home movies of my family and friends and show it on our HD widescreen television.
I was very pleased with Preferred Photo's expertise and service. Especially the cost savings, compared to the other vendors. Now I know why they are called Preferred Photo.

I'm anxious to get home and see your videos. My laptop is running Windows 98 and slow as molasses, so I'm putting all videos on hold until this afternoon. I'm anxious to hear more about your new camera!
