Early this morning (5:30 am), Gordon & I went to see the Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Polo and Balloon Festival at the Eldorado Polo Club, Indio, CA.
The skies were filled with 56 colorful and whimsical balloons. Gordon and I had a lot of fun taking pictures and video clips of the event. It was very cold this morning....how cold was it? 47 degrees a matter of fact! Way too cold for me! I'm so glad I decided to wear slacks and not shorts like I normally wear. My hands were so cold, I could hardly snap the pictures. A couple of times my digital camera froze and wouldn't take the picture (that's how cold it was).
The biggest highlight of the event to me was watching the balloons being assembled. At one point a photographer stepped in front of me while I was taking a picture. So I stepped in front of him to take the picture over. I didn't realize how close I was to the balloon until the flames came bursting into the hot air balloon. It scared the heck out of me, but at least I got my hands and camera warm. You'll notice in one of the video clips I took, I got awfully close to the flames to where the whole entire picture was orange. Shhhh....don't tell my mom! LOL!
