These shoes are made for walking

Yep, these shoes are made for walking, and that's exactly what I did this morning. What's amazing is, my husband decided to take a walk with me too. I told him that he won't be able to keep up with me and not to feel too bad when I pass him (lol)!

That's when my husband reminded me of the time when my sister and I walked together and how competitive we were. This happened several years ago when we went on vacation together at our timeshare in Vanderbilt Beach. Each morning, my husband and I would get up early to walk on the beach while my sister was still in bed. I would brag to her how far we had walked each day. Then one morning she decided to walk with us. The walk I'll never forget!

It was a beautiful morning on the beach. The sun was coming up from the horizon. My husband, sister and I leisurely walked on the white sands of Vanderbilt beach. We picked up a few shells along the way. Then I noticed my sister started walking ahead of me. Well, I couldn't have that happen, so I walked ahead of her. Then she started walking a little faster to get ahead of me. Then I started walking even faster to get ahead of her again. At this point, our nice leisurely walk turned into a power walk and our power walks turned into a jog! Before we knew it, we fell and crashed to the sand from exhaustion! Then we noticed that my husband was no where to be seen. We looked behind us and all we could see is a dark silhouette of him in the far distance. We had left my husband behind! We both laughed and that's when we realized how competitive we really are. I guess it's the nature of us.

So this morning, I turned on my Ipod and tuned out my husband while I had a nice liesurely walk.
