Saturday, November 12th, 2005 we went to the Member Gala party at Woodhaven Country Club. The dinner and entertainment was great. They had a live band that played everything from classic music to just plain old rock & roll. The clubhouse looked absolutely beautiful since Woodhaven remodeled it too. It was also nice to see all our friends that were away over the summer that are now back again for the new season.
We started the evening off with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Then for dinner we had butter lettuce salad with poached pear, candied walnuts, gorconzola cheese & a balsamic vinaigrette, boy was that good! For the main dinner we had filet of beef with cognac sauce, chicken roulade of mushroom & spinach with a beurre blanc asparagus, julienne of vegetables and scalloped potatoes. I was too full for dessert, but I ended up eating the almond lace cup with white & dark chocolate mousse, I just couldn't resist! We ended up working off our dinners by dancing all night long to the good old rock & roll music. It was one of the best parties I have gone to at Woodhaven in a long time. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
