Tram Ride up to the Getty
Tram Ride up to the Getty from Linda McClure on Vimeo.
Yesterday, we went to the Getty Center in Los Angeles, CA. I've been there one other time. I went when it first opened to the public back in 1997 or 1998. Boy, time sure has gone by fast!
Here's some footage of the complete tram ride up a hill to the Getty Center. More to follow. If you want to view in high definition, Click Here, and then click on the lower right side of the screen. If you use the full screen on my vlog, it's not HD and will appear blurry.

A Long Drive
It was a long ride on our trip to Carmel, California. My husband was driving and John (neighbor) sat in the front to keep him company. Darlene and I sat in the back watching movies on the DVD player.
There were a lot of winding roads ahead. I'm so glad I remembered to take my Dramamine. Pumpkin was doing fine, sleeping in his puppy seat behind me. Mack, my neighbor's dog, was resting his head on my arm rest. He seemed to be doing alright too. Watch the short movie clip.

Shabu Shabu
We had Shabu-shabu (swish swish) at the Flying Fish Grill in Carmel, CA. What is it? It's the next fad in Japanese cuisine. Watch the movie.

Healthy Dinner
My husband fixed a wonderful dinner this evening. Not only was it healthy, it looked pretty too. Even thought it was simple, I was impressed with the gourmet presentation. That's why I took a video snap shot of our meal.

Mom's New Puppy
While vacationing in Carmel I saw the cutest puppy ever (besides Pumpkin). It was so cute I had to buy it. I thought my mom would love to have a little dog around to keep her company. So I surprised her by bringing it in a little box crate. Boy, was she surprised! Watch the video.

Solitude in a Park
Solitude in a Park from Linda McClure on Vimeo.
I took some footage at a beautiful little park in La Quinta, California. The park has a multi-level lake with connecting waterfalls to the lower pond with a large fountain in the center. Wildlife around the lake included ducks, turtles and coy. A great place to go for a peaceful and serene atmosphere.

Baby Ducklings at Woodhaven
Baby Ducklings from Linda McClure on Vimeo.
I saw thirteen baby ducklings with their mother hanging around the lake on hole #17 at our golf course. The mother duck and her cute little ducklings went for a short swim in the lake. Then the mother climbed out of the lake with four of her babies following her. The other nine remaining baby ducklings tried to follow but the slope was much too steep to climb out. They kept falling back in the lake. See what happens in this movie.

Woodhaven - Girl's Night Out

Well, it's that time of the year again. We had our annual "Girl's Night Out" on Tuesday, April 15th, 2008. There were lots of laughs and live entertainment that included the following:
1-Woodhaven Retired Men's Marching Drill Team (Way too funny)
2-Sharon dressed as Cher singing "It's in his kiss" (this was great!)
3-Paul McCartney's Tribute to WCC Women's Golfers (written by Sandy & Diana)
4-That's What You Do When You're in Love (Wow! I didn't know Carol could sing)
5-Boot Scootin Boogy Line Dancers (Great line dancing!)
Then after the performance, everyone was invited to Elaine's house to party. This is a tradition that she does every year for "Girl's Night Out." A big THANK YOU goes to Elaine, for all the wonderful parties she has given us through the years.
Another big THANK YOU also goes to Betty who organized "Girl's Night Out 2008" and to all the ladies who were brave enough to perform for this event. I thought Jolene did a super job as the MC.
Click on above image to view more pictures taken at this event. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the live entertainment, instead, I have a video of it all on DVD. I even have an Apple TV version of it in DVD ROM. I made a copy for all the performers. If anyone else at Woodhaven would like a copy let me know.

Visiting Another World
Visiting Another World from Linda McClure on Vimeo.
One of the main attractions we wanted to see, while visiting Monterey, was the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I thought the aquarium had a lot of neat exhibits. The highlight to me was the jellyfish with their beautiful exotic colors. Watching the marine life through the glass windows was like visiting another world.

Birthday Dinner

My mom didn't make spaghetti and meat balls like she normally does for a birthday or a special occasion. This time it was extra special!
Thanks mom! The dinner was wonderful last night!

Oldie but a Goodie!
Today's my birthday and I'm another year older. I have to laugh on what happened to me several years ago. I was driving a beautiful refurbished 1978 Datsun 280Z when I stopped at the red light. There were four teenagers sitting in a red convertible next to me. One of the teenagers yelled, "Nice car!" and I responded "Oldie but a Goodie!" Then the teenager yelled back "Just like you!" LOL!
"Happy Birthday" to my nephew Danny, who also was born on this day. Which reminds me of another story about birthdays. When Dan was three years, old I told him that we were both born on the same day. Danny responded, "Yea, but your old!"
